|Thomas Leo Floyd, 83, of Wilmington died Wednesday, February 20, 2103 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.
He was born on November 18, 1929 in Loris, SC to the late Sam and Edna Floyd. Leo was also preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Floyd and Joe Floyd as well as a niece, Rebecca Floyd Mooney.
Leo is survived by 5 sisters, Geraldine Suggs of Loris, SC, Shelby Bond of Lexington, SC, Darthy Kitchell of California, Freda Jones of Lugoff, SC and Wanda Norman of Wilmington, NC; four brothers, Wilber Flyod, Mike Floyd, Harless Floyd and Ralph Floyd all of Loris, SC.. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
Leo served his county honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed with General Motors retiring 33 years.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to his attorney, John J. Peck; friends at American Legion Post 10; his physician, Andre Leonard, MD; dear friend, Luke Sampson, MD; and the staff at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center all for their fellowship, friendship and compassionate care during his illness and time of need.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 23, 2013 at American Legion, Post 10, 702 Pine Grove Dr. Wilmington, NC.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Yahweh Center or Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.
